What we collect

A quote request gives us your name, mobile number, email address and the address of the property (including a plot number if you give one). We also collect the details you choose to tell us about the garden: whether it's a new build, its rough size, whether you'd like paving, your preferred date and anything else you add. If you choose Trade or Developer, we collect your company name if you give it.

If you send a message through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, the message and, if you add them, your phone number and postcode.

Like most websites, our hosting provider logs basic technical information such as IP addresses and browser type to keep the website secure and working.

How we use it

We use your details to prepare your quote, to contact you about it and about related services, to arrange and carry out the work if you go ahead, and to keep proper business records. Your consent tick on the form covers contact by phone call, SMS, WhatsApp and email.

Our lawful bases are: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (preparing your quote); performing our contract with you (carrying out the work); our legitimate interests in running and improving our business; your consent, where we ask for it; and legal obligations such as keeping tax records.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, such as our website host, our customer records and email systems, and the people who carry out the garden work, and only as far as they need it. If you allow analytics cookies, the analytics providers named in our cookie notice receive data on how visitors use the website.

Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and quote requests that don't go ahead are kept for 6 years. Records of work carried out are kept for 6 years, in line with tax and accounting rules. Photos of gardens are kept for 6 years.

Your rights

You have the right to a copy of your information, and to have it corrected, deleted or its use limited. You can also object to how it's used and withdraw consent whenever you like. You can also change your contact preferences whenever you like.

To use any of these rights, email info@turfingnortheast.co.uk. Not happy with the way your information has been handled? You can raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
