New-build gardens cleared, prepared and turfed in Sunderland and Washington
From the southern edge of Sunderland to Washington and Houghton, we turn bare new-build gardens into lawns you can use.

New homes on Wearside
A lot of Sunderland's new housing is on the city's southern and western edges, around Doxford and Ryhope, with further estates in Washington and out towards Houghton-le-Spring and Hetton-le-Hole.
Some of these developments are large and built over several years, so it's common to move in while the next phase is still going up around you.
Ground and access
What's under the surface
Parts of Wearside are built on heavy clay, and some new homes stand on land that was used for something else before. That can mean stones or old hardcore turning up as the ground is loosened. Surface debris is cleared as standard, and any buried rubble is priced separately.
Busy estates
On estates that are still being built, site traffic and parking rules can affect access. Let us know about them on the form so the day runs smoothly.

FAQs
Questions about your new garden
Do you cover Washington?
Yes. Washington is part of the City of Sunderland, and its newer estates are well within the areas we cover.
What if you dig up old hardcore?
Stones and debris near the surface are cleared as part of the job. Anything larger buried deeper, like brick, block or concrete, is priced separately before it's removed.
