New-build gardens cleared, prepared and turfed in North Tyneside
Bare plots on North Tyneside's newer estates, turned into finished lawns. Clearing, preparation, topsoil, levelling and fresh turf, with paving optional.

New homes across North Tyneside
North Tyneside has seen a lot of new building, particularly around Killingworth, Backworth and Shiremoor, and on the land between Longbenton and the coast. Many of these estates were built in phases, so neighbours often move in months apart.
Plot sizes vary across the borough. Semi-detached and detached homes tend to have a decent rear garden, while terraces and townhouses often have a narrower strip that suits a simple lawn.
Ground and conditions
Firm, slow-draining ground
New-build gardens here are often heavy and compacted after construction. Breaking up the surface and topping it with good soil gives the turf a better base to root into.
Towards the coast
Gardens nearer Whitley Bay and Tynemouth can be more exposed to wind off the sea. Fresh turf dries out faster in a breeze, so regular watering in the early weeks matters even more.

FAQs
Questions about your new garden
Our estate is still being finished. Can you work there?
Yes, once your plot has been handed over. Let us know about site access, gates or parking restrictions when you fill in the form.
We live near the coast. Does that change anything?
The work itself is the same. Coastal gardens can dry out faster, so keep a close eye on watering while your new lawn roots.
